Board Member George Mullin invites
Boys & Girls Clubs to
 Explore Outside Life
On Wednesday June 30, 2010 over 150 youth members from Harford County Boys and Girls Club joined Mr. George Mullin, member of the Board of Directors to his home in Street, MD. Throughout the day the kids were able to explore and enjoy fishing, swimming, exotic animal show, pony rides, nature walks and much more. Mr. Mullin also provided free food for the the club members courtsey of his company Chesapeake Quality Traders.
The club members (age 6-13) were really excited about the tour that Joyce Browning showed them on the nature walk. It was an entertaining view for the kids and they felt a genuine emotion for nature.
Ms. Browning demonstrated natural composting and recycled paper making techniques for several of the kids. The kids learned different types of composting, which is nature’s process of recycling decomposed organic material. They were very amazed with the outcome.
The kids were very excited about the exotic animal show. They were able to sight snapping turtles, bearded lizards, corn snakes, pythons, alligators and much more. Some of the club members even held some of the corn snakes.
"Many of us in the non-profit area are very familiar with George through Chesapeake Quality Traders however", said Tim Wills, Director of Operations, "many do not get to realize the full gamont of his contributions.  The gesture of opening his home to hundreds of young people each year to host this trip and the experience they learn is nothing short of amazing."
The kids were so amused, and learned so much about the outside life. It was an extravagant experience for the Boys & Girls Club, to see such exotic animals. They appreciate their full day of enjoyment with Mr. Mullins along with his family and a host of volunteers.
